Alan and Marguerite McKnight Fund

Marguerite was born in Carman, Manitoba in October 1925. She became a ‘permit’ teacher at age 17 before attending Normal School and becoming a qualified teacher; working at schools in Arnaud, Wingham, Portage la Prairie, Roland and Churchill military base. It was in Churchill that she met her husband, Alan McKnight. They made many friends and were renowned for their hospitality to family and friends. Marguerite McKnight passed away in July 2017 and was pre-deceased by Alan.

As a lasting tribute to Marguerite, your gift to the Alan and Marguerite McKnight Fund will provide vital assistance to women and children requiring temporary assistance and to musical organizations in our community.

Your gift will be pooled and invested with the generated income distributed as grants to local registered charities. As the original gift remains invested, your contribution will continue to benefit the people of Winnipeg in perpetuity.
